Five selected images featuring five different styles and languages of expression. For this exhibition, all photos are printed on a different type of paper to suit each image's best qualities.
London Photo Show 2022 Exhibition takes place at the Bargehouse Gallery on London’s Southbank and runs from 13 to 16th October 2022.

Image from my project "Lockdown Street Diary, LSD". LSD is a photo book of street photographs showing fragments of life before, during, and after the London lockdown, capturing the complexity of everyday life during this unprecedented period. I began the project in the winter of 2020 shooting at night as a means to escape the boredom and anxiety of being confined at home. Although human contact had been largely restricted by forced distancing and lack of access to the usual way of communication, I have decided to use photography as a medium to re-establish a connection with people.

Crossing Paths

Sao Paulo, Brazil - 2018
At first, this scene drew my attention to the architecture’s geometry and layers. I liked it for two reasons mainly. One is purely aesthetical, and the second one is because it took me back to the hectic streets of Sao Paulo. I thought it was a good scene to express the relationship between people and society, using simple visual qualities such as leading lines and layers. Beyond the density of the form in the photo, some unnamed people seem to share the struggle in finding a way out from a network of lines and shapes, as if those could represent norms and rules of the social life that we all fight from time to time. I chose black and white to eliminate any distractions from colours and instead focus on the fundamental elements of the image.

Fatherhood is a bond that often is not expressed in the same way as the one between a mother and her child. An equally strong bond though in which messages are not uniquely verbal but often conveyed through looks and behaviours. Being a father today has increasingly taken on the role of he who provides children with a sense of security, both physical and emotional, no longer through the authoritative father figure but through sensitivity, closeness, and tenderness
