Five selected images featuring five different styles and languages of expression. For this exhibition, all photos are printed on a different type of paper to suit at best the qualities of each image.

London Photo Show 2022 Exhibition takes place at the Bargehouse Gallery on London’s Southbank and runs from 13 to 16th October 2022.

Image from my project "Lockdown Street Diary, LSD". LSD is a photo book of street photographs showing fragments of life before, during, and after the London lockdown, capturing the complexity of everyday life during this unprecedented period. I began the project in the winter of 2020 shooting at night as a means to escape the boredom and anxiety of being confined at home. Although human contact had been largely restricted by forced distancing and lack of access to the usual way of communication, I have decided to use photography as a medium to re-establish a connection with people.

Sao Paulo, Brazil - 2018
At first, this scene drew my attention to the architecture’s geometry and layers. I liked it for two reasons mainly. One is purely aesthetical, and the second one is because it took me back to the hectic streets of Sao Paulo. I thought it was a good scene to express the relationship between people and society, using simple visual qualities such as leading lines and layers. Beyond the density of the form in the photo, some unnamed people seem to share the struggle in finding a way out from a network of lines and shapes, as if those could represent norms and rules of the social life that we all fight from time to time. I chose black and white to eliminate any distractions from colours and instead focus on the fundamental elements of the image.

This candid photo was taken in Central London on a sunny summer afternoon in 2022. It features silhouettes of two men in an alleyway at the back-of-house of restaurants and shops. The gentleman in the foreground wears a hat and the one in the background walks back to continue his shift.
